Agriculture and Livestock Development CS Mutahi Kagwe visited the Chai Trading Company warehouses in Miritini,
Mombasa, to assess progress in addressing challenges in Kenya’s tea sector. Chai Trading, a wholly owned subsidiary of KTDA, plays a key role in enhancing the industry’s global footprint.
The CS also inspected ongoing extensions to the warehouse infrastructure, an initiative set to reduce farmers’ costs on storage.
KTDA is actively developing new strategies to ensure timely sales and optimized returns for its smallholder farmers. The visit highlights KTDA’s strategic initiatives to address industry challenges and enhance farmers’ earnings.
