CS Kagwe, Accompanied by KTDA Leadership, Begins U.S. Mission to Boost Kenya’s Agricultural Exports
Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Senator Mutahi Kagwe, has begun a high-level mission in the United States to open new markets for Kenyan agricultural products.
CS Kagwe is accompanied by a delegation from the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) Holdings, including the National Chairman, Geoffrey Chege Kirundi, Group CEO, Wilson Muthaura, Vincent Mwingirwa, the General Manager for Sales and Marketing at KTDA and Engineer Ngatia, the KETEPA Managing Director.
Hosted by Kenya’s Ambassador to the U.S., David Kerich, the delegation met with Milo’s Tea Company in South Carolina. Milo’s, a leading manufacturer of iced tea with a $200 million investment footprint, was represented by its Commodity Manager, Chris Kidenda.
The mission aims to increase Kenya’s tea exports to the U.S., which currently account for just 2% of total shipments.
Also present at the meeting was Gillcrist, Chairman of the South Carolina African American Chamber of Commerce, alongside chamber members who pledged support for deepening trade partnerships with Kenya.
