Driving Sustainable Change Across the Mount Kenya Tea Landscape

Under the Mount Kenya Sustainable Landscape and Livelihoods Program (MSuLLi), tea factories including Kangaita, Ndima, Mununga, Kimunye, Thumaita, Kathangariri, Mungania, and Rukuriri are implementing diversification initiatives to promote climate-smart agriculture, ecosystem restoration, and resilient livelihoods.

With the support of the KTDA Foundation, IKEA Foundation and Rainforest Alliance , these factories are advancing practices such as agroforestry, inter-cropping, kitchen gardening, water conservation, and soil management — helping smallholder tea farmers adapt to climate change while unlocking alternative income opportunities.
