Eberege Tea Factory

Eberege tea factory was constructed between 2003 and 2006 and later commissioned on October 2007 to serve small scale tea farmers within the then Kenyenya and South Gucha Districts of former Nyanza province. It was commissioned with a capacity of 10 million kgs of green leaf per annum. The green leaf intake has progressively increased from 7 million at the time of commissioning to currently 10 million.

The factory is located in Kenyenya sub-county, Kisii County, about 46 Kms from Kisii town and 15 kms off kisii-kilgoris road along Mogonga-Eberege all weather road. It is 409 kilometers to the West of Nairobi General Post Office (GPO) measured along Naivasha, Nakuru, Kericho and Kisii.

The factory process the black CTC teas which constitutes six grades four primary grades (BP1, PF1, PD, D1) and two secondary grades (F1, DUST) the bulk of which is sold through Mombasa auction. The factory is known for colourly and mellowing liquors with mild aromas.
