Factory History:

• Tea was first planted in the area in 1982. During the years that followed; planting was intensified in the region and this facilitated the construction of Olenguruone Tea Factory, which underwent a test run on 25th May 2013 and became fully operational on October 2013. The factory was officially opened on 28th April 2018 by the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E Hon. William Ruto. The Factory is a wholly owned Subsidiary of Kapkoros Tea Factory Co . Ltd

Number of Growers in the Area:

• Currently, the factory serves 8343 growers with an area of 2692 Hectares of land.

• Rainfall: 1000-1800 mm per annum. Olenguruone is situated just next to the famous Mau forest.

–          Saino Farm – 23,400 Tree Plants

–          Kabongoi Farm- 14,400 Tree Plants

–          Tapnyota 1 & 2 – 220,200 Tree Plants

–          Olenguruone Farm – 45,000 mature tea bushes

Olenguruone Tea Factory operates a Central Tree Nursery where propagated seedlings are sold to growers at a lower price.
