Factory History:

The factory was commissioned on 14^th March 1978. This was the third tea factory in Nyeri District after Ragati tea factory in Mathira Division (opened in 1957) and Chinga tea factory in Othaya Division (opened in 1960’s). It has over the years expanded its processing capacity to the current 15,000,000 kg green leaf annual designed capacity.

Special Projects

Hydro power Project: This is the first project of its kind in KTDA. Which is completed and the factory is 100% self-sufficient in power supply.
