Kapkatet tea factory was inaugurated in 1991 and commissioned in 1993 to manufacture black C.T.C tea. The factory is situated 41 km from Kericho along Kisii highway and distance from Nairobi 296 km to the west. The factory is in Bureti District, Kapkatet Division, Kapktet location.

The company’s vision is to be one of the leading producers of high quality tea products in the KTDA West of Rift region. Its mission To provide efficient and effective services to the smallholder tea farmers in production, leaf collection and processing of high quality teas for the benefit of the shareholders and other stakeholders.

It is found between two rivers; Kipsonoi River to the south and Chemosit River to the north. It is within the following electral areas: Kapkatet, Techoget , Tebesonik ,Cheborgei, cheplanget and Chemagel with each area represented by a member who sits in the board of directors of the company Kapkatet tea factory being one of the KTDA managed tea factory is committed to KTDA corporate quality policy, vision, mission and core values. In line with that it has established its own vision, mission and core values. Kapkatet produces made black CTC tea as its only final product.

Kapkatet has an organizational structure that clearly defines the duties, responsibilities and associated authorities. The top management is however charged with directing the day to day activities of the organizations.

The scope of the food safety management system is from the; ‘’ Reception of green leaf at the factory, Processing, Packing and Dispatch of Made Black CTC Tea.’’
