Factory History:
- Tea was first planted in the area in 1964. During the years that followed; planting was intensified in the region and this facilitated the construction of Rorok Tea Factory, which was commissioned in 2008 to manufacture black CTC .
Factory Location:
- Rorok tea factory is situated at Kaptebengwet Location, Konoin sub county of Bomet county in rifty valley province ,Kenya. It is situated 40km from Bomet town and 270km from Nairobi.
Altitude:
- The factory is on relatively high altitude of 2100.70M above sea level approximately 0.3º ,35.30º Longitude.
Number of Growers in the Area:
- Currently, the factory serves 10,427 growers with a potential area of 2277 Hectares of land.
Types of Teas grown:
- Black CTC
- Black orthodox teas.
- Green Teas
Climate&Natural Features:
- Rainfall: 900-1500 mm per annum. Rorok is situated just next to the famous Mau forest .
