Factory History:
The factory was built in 1981 and completed in 1983. Commissioning was done in 1984 for the commercial tea production (CTC manufacture). In June 2020, the Company started black orthodox tea manufacture.
Factory Location:
It’s located in Gatamaiyu division of Lari Sub-County (Kiambu County) 60 km from Nairobi inclusive 11km off Githunguri town along Kagwe –Kimende route.
Altitude:
Lies 37 degrees east of prime meridian south of the equator and on about 6800ft above the sea level.
Number of Growers in the Area:
- Currently, the factory serves 7415 growers with a potential area of 1935.83 Hectares of land under tea.

- Black CTC
- Black orthodox teas.
Climate & Natural Features:
Rainfall: 1200-1800 mm per annum. Aberdare ranges and Kinare forest.
